Hey ,
The answer would be 1. d and 2. a
Explanation:-
1. Weight of watermelon 5000 gm.
99% of its weight is water so 1% is the non water part which will be there even after drying.
So, non water=5000*(1/100)=50 gm
After drying it turns out that only 98% of its weight is water. So 2% is non water.
So if 2 gm is non water then the weight of watermelon is 100
or if 50 gm is non water then the weight of watermelon is 100*50/2=2500 gm.
so answer is D.
2. For 2 minits the monkey go upwords net is (10-2)=8 meters.
So time will be rewuired =(64/8)*2 minites=16 minites.
So the answer is A.

1d
2e
ans 1d is as explained above
but for ans 2e)
at 14th minute the monkey has climbed 56 mts and at the 15 th minute it will climb 56+10=66 mts
so why the hell will we consider the extra 1 min as when the monkey has gone up there is no question of it slipping down
so the ans will be none of these and thus option e)

1. (d)
5000 gm total weight = 4950 gm water (i.e. 99% of 5000) + 50 gm non-water (i.e. 1% of 5000)
Now after drying say x gm of water is lost, thus, (4950-x) gm water is remaining + 50 gm non-water which is already there.
Now, 98%((4950-x)+50)= (4950-x)
Thus, x=2500gm is lost, hence, 5000-2500=2500 gm is left
2. (e)
in 1 min distance covered upward —> 10 m
after 2 min distance slipped —> 2 m
Effectively after 2 min = (10-2)= 8 m
2 min == 8 m
2*7 min (i.e. 14) == 8*7 m (i.e. 56)
Only 8 meter (64-56 m) is left for the monkey to cover 64 m
10 m is covered in 1 min (i.e. 60 sec),
so, rest 8 m is covered in 48 sec
Thus, monkey travels 64 m in 14 min 48 sec

1: ( d ) 2500 .
A watermelon weighs 5000 gm. 99% of it’s weight is water. So non water substance is. 1% of 5000 gm = 50 gm. In 2nd case 2% of the of the weight is 50 gm ,
so the 100% of the weight is = (50 / 2 ) * 100 = 2500 gms.
2: (e) None of these.
The monkey climbs up 10 meters in 1 minute and slips down 2 meters in next minutes. He total ascends 8 meters in 2 minutes.
Thus in total 14 minutes he ascends (7×8 ) meters = 56 meters.
Now only (64 – 56) = 8 meters remain.
It would take him only 48 secs to climb that 8 meters . so the total time required is 14 min 48 sec.
