  6. jayant Says:

    well i would try by my understandin…!!

    now 1st term=a,2nd = b, middle = c…

    comm diff = d= b-a

    no. of terms = n = (2*(c-a)/(b-a))+ 1

    ….(try by takin ne sample AP n check ..since middle term is single entity,try taking AP with odd terms)

    and now solve usin formula.

  7. Ashish Kumar Says:

    1)b
    1st term=a
    2nd term=b =>b=a+d =>d=b-a
    middle term=c =>c=a+(n-1)/2*d =>n=2*(c-a)/(b-a)+1

    now substitute a,n and d in the sum equation i.e.
    sum=(n/2)*(2a+(n-1)d)
    u get reqd option.

    2)c
    total age 3 years ago=27*3=81
    total age now=81+3*3=90
    wife+son’s age 5 years ago=21*2=42
    wife+son’s age now=42+2*5=52
    hence, husband’s age=90-52=38
